Some works are available to bid on at live auction 28 June 2018, others are available to bid on via an online auction from 7 until 28 June 2018. There are also editioned works available to purchase immediately and others via private sale, more details below.
The live auction takes place at a private event on 28 June 2018. You can bid on works in the live auction either by registering with Paddle8 and listing a maximum bid, or by completing the absentee / telephone bidding form below. Please note, in the event of identical absentee bids (via Paddle8 or the absentee / telephone bidding form below), the earliest received will take precedence.
Online bidding for live lots via Paddle8 closes at 17:00 BST 27 June 2018. Paddle8 representatives can, at this point, continue to bid on your behalf, more information on how to organise this is given on Paddle8’s site.
To bid by telephone or as an absentee, please fill in the form below, noting instructions in the accompanying guide. On submitting the form, you will receive an email with your completed form and instructions on how to sign and submit this back to Artangel to confirm your bid(s). Your signed form must be received by Artangel latest 14:00 BST Thursday 28 June 2018 otherwise your listed bids will not be taken into account.
Some works are available to bid on online from 09:00 BST 7 June 2018. The online auction closes at 22:45 BST 28 June 2018. To browse the works online and place bids on lots in the online auction, please register with Paddle8.
Please record accurately the lot numbers, descriptions and the maximum hammer price you are willing to pay for each lot. Lot numbers and descriptions are given in the catalogue. Instructions to “BUY” or unlimited bids will not be accepted.
We will try and purchase the lot(s) of your choice for the lowest price possible (dependent on the reserve price and other bids) and never for more than the maximum bid amount you indicate. Where appropriate, your bids will be rounded down to the nearest amount consistent with the auctioneer’s bidding increments.
If electing to bid by telephone, we suggest that you also leave a maximum bid which we can execute on your behalf in the event we are unable to reach you. Please double check that it will be possible to reach you on the telephone number you have given at the time of the sale. Please also ensure to give the full number including international dialling code. We will call you shortly before the relevant lot is offered, if you are not available on the first number indicated we will try the alternative phone numbers you have given.
Alternate bids for items can be made by selecting the option “OR” between lot numbers. This means if your bid on an early lot is successful, we will not continue to bid on subsequent lots for you. Or, if your early bids are unsuccessful, we will continue to execute bids for the remaining lots listed on your absentee bidding form. Select the “AND” option between bids if you would like bids to be placed on each lot independently up to the max price indicated.
Please note that the execution of absentee and telephone bids is offered as an additional service for no extra charge. Such bids are executed at the bidder’s risk. Artangel therefore cannot accept liability for any reasonable error or failure to place such bids. All bids are subject to the Conditions of Business. Bids will be executed for the lowest price as is permitted by other bids or reserves. Where appropriate your written bids will be rounded down to the nearest amount consistent with the auctioneer’s bidding increments.
Some works are available to purchase immediately (Buy it Now) via Paddle8.
No buyer’s premium is payable.
The sale of these artworks is zero-rated for VAT purposes.
For live and online auction lots and Buy it Now artworks, invoices are issued which are payable within three days by cheque or bank transfer.
