Open until 22 March 2026, Come as You Really Are by Hetain Patel is now open at the Museum of Making, Derby.
This nationwide, shapeshifting project presents an alternative portrait of the UK through the hobbies people love.
At the heart of the project is a new film by Patel, which blends high-end cinematic production with everyday scenes that highlight the joy and dedication found in pastimes often enjoyed quietly at home or with friends.
Visitors to the Museum of Making will recognise the model railway, which is lovingly created and maintained by volunteers at the museum and has a starring role in the film.
On your visit, follow the hobby trail to discover objects that have been created by hobbyists throughout the museum collections.
