MICHAEL CLARK
Mmm...

19 – 28 June 1992
King’s Cross Depot, London N1

Hailing the return of the Michael Clark Company to London, Mmm... was a fundamental, brutal and highly physical affirmation of life and death - from Stravinsky's Rite of Spring to the Sex Pistols. Mmm... found its natural habitat in a non-theatrical space whose architecture and environment played an essential role in the work.

The performances took place at the King's Cross Depot, London N1 and were performed nightly during mid-summer between 19 and 28 June. Michael Clark Company performing Mmm... was comprised of Julie Hood and Matthew Hawkins, together with Joanne Barrett. Costumes were designed by the late Leigh Bowery, who appeared in the show, as did Michael Clark’s mother, Bessie. Lighting design was by Charles Atlas.

He remains unpredictable, dangerous even, in his newfound ability to disturb emotions too deep for words.
