KRZYSZTOF WODICZKO
City Projections

August 1985

Krzysztof Wodiczko’s work – projections onto buildings and monuments – expose the nature of that architecture often from a critical political perspective. They demonstrate that it has a physical, real exterior space and a psychological interior space. Both are open to appropriation and reinterpretation. In London, Wodiczko realised projections onto the Duke of York memorial on the Mall and onto Nelson’s Column, Trafalgar Square.
