At sites around Chalk Farm and Elephant & Castle in London, Les Levine’s billboards were prominent even amongst the plethora of consumer marketing imagery. Levine’s works pointed out the absurdity of strife and genocide world-wide in the name of God, deriving their inspiration mainly from the situation in Northern Ireland. The billboards highlighted hypocritical standards and dubious righteousness.
