THE VIEW FROM IMBER
Panel Discussion

Saturday 30 August 2003, 1.15-2.15pm
St Giles Church, Imber, Salisbury Plain, Wiltshire

This public event took place between Eucharist and Evensong in St Giles Church on Imber Day. It offered a chance to consider the implications of Kancheli's new work and ask if Imber's past has been laid to rest. Is it time it was forgotten or is the village an enduring site and symbol of national and historical significance? Panellists included The Ven. Barney Hopkinson, Archdeacon of Wilts; Colonel Paul Norrington-Davies OBE, Commandant, Salisbury Plain Training Area; and Patrick Wright, cultural historian, broadcaster and author of The Village that Died for England: The Strange Story of Tyneham (1995; 2002). Chaired by Helen Marriage of Artichoke Productions, Associate Producer of Artangel's Imber project.
