Ideas for London

Propose an idea. Win a night in the Room.

Artists impression

In association with the London Evening Standard, Ideas for London is a competition to discover Londoners’ most remarkable ideas for the capital. We’re searching for the idealists and innovators, fixers and dreamers who can offer proposals for making our city a better place.

The brief for the competition is wide open. Ideas submitted can be fantastical or practical, magnificent or modest. They may be concerned with the arts, technology or social good. They may be ideas for today or ambitions for the future. The aim is simply to identify flashes of civic brilliance.

Winners will stay overnight in one of London’s most prominent and sought after places to stay, A Room for London, a one-bedroom installation perched on top of Southbank Centre’s Queen Elizabeth Hall throughout 2012. A number of creative and influential people will come on board to nurture the extraordinary ideas, one to one and over dinner, before the winner ‘sleeps on it.’
