Friday Late at the V&A
Friday 28 May 2010, 6.30—10pm
"Dive into your dressing-up box and come as one of the Dictionary's key words - armoured, comfortable, conformist, creased, essential, fashionable, loose, measured, plain, pretentious or tight. Strut your stuff for the judges with the chance to be part of the grand finale.

"Enjoy a host of other events around the museum that play with ideas about the meaning of words, collections, dress and how we feel about what we wear…

"Sit in on a spectacular performance as the host, writer David Gale, invites you into the diverse and eruptive world of the Peachy Coochy. Take a seat in the Cabaret Bar for a special screening of short films that illustrate the evening's themes, produced by Animate Projects and selected by freelance writer and curator, Karen Alexander. Explore The Concise Dictionary of Dress with its creators, Judith Clark and Adam Phillips, in an intimate and thought-provoking discussion.

"Join the host of our Games Room, 2009's Scrabble Champion Craig Beevers, as we explore some of the well known (and rather obscure) word games out there, and pitch yourself against him if you dare. Test your quick-fire word skills in our Giant Speed Scrabble and hunt the galleries for crossword clues."
