The Concise Dictionary of Dress is an Artangel collaboration with a psychoanalyst, Adam Phillips, a costume curator, Judith Clark, and Blythe House, the V&A’s working store for its art and design collections. It begins with a journey through a turnstile, into an industrial goods lift and up to the to the first in a sequence of intriguing definitions in a walk-through dictionary of dress... As your path meanders through hidden collections of furniture, ceramics, glass, jewellery, textiles, fashion and fine arts, the anatomy of the building reveals surreal and evocative interventions in unexpected places.
This is the first time the V&A has opened Blythe House to the public, and the first time Artangel has worked in a fully working space...
